evidence of any repaired collision damage to the front
of the car i.e. chassis, chassis legs, inner valences,
bulk heads, front panel |
| Transmission |
Brakes |
The brakes are tested on the test drive to assess operation
and smoothness |
|
ABS |
The function of the ABS (Anti locking braking) is also
checked |
|
Clutch |
The clutch is checked for ease of operation and slippage
|
|
Manual Gearbox |
Manual Gearbox is checked for ease of shifting, foreign
noises, crunching up and down changes
|
|
Automatic Gearbox |
Checked for ease of changes without slurring or slipping,
foreign noises and clunking, operation of kick down.
|
|
Steering |
The steering is checked for pulling to either side,
freedom of operation, self canceling and any obvious play.
|
|
Suspension |
The suspension is checked for moans, groans, knocking
noises and squeaks during operation. Noises, faulty wheel
bearing and back axle noises will be listened for. Back
axle noises only apply to (RWD) rear wheel drive cars. |
| Body |
Bonnet / Wings |
The bonnet and front wings are checked for original
fit and any trace of repair.

Doors |
We carefully check all doors - this is where we look
for the cut and shut. All doors will be opened
and checked for alignment, operation and condition. |
|
Quarter Panels |
The quarter panels will be inspected in the case of
a 2 door model |
|
Boot Interior |
The inner of the boot is inspected including the boot
floor and rear panel where visible, alignment of the boot
lid, tail gate is also observed. |
|
Exterior Condition |
An overall view of the exterior of the car is noted.
The body of the car should be clean and dry to facilitate
proper inspection. |
| Tyres |
All Tyres and Spare |
All tyres will be inspected for type, matching sizes,
side wall damage, thread condition, whether or not the
vehicle requires tracking i.e. uneven wear. |
| Electrics |
Alternator |
The Alternator will be checked for operation |
|
Starting Motor |
The Starter Motor will be checked for proper operation
|
|
Battery |
The Battery will be inspected. |
|
Electric Windows, Mirrors etc. |
Switches and controls, electric windows, sunroof mirrors
and any accessory that can be found will be checked for
operation, where fitted. |
|
Lights |
Front and rear lights, including brake and reversing
lights are checked for correct operation. Please note,
we do not check the alignment of beams. |
|
Wipers |
Windscreen wipers including wiper blades are checked
|
| Ancillaries |
Radio / CD Player |
The Radio / CD player / Tape player operation is checked.
The CD unit and/or tape player can only be checked if
CDs, tapes are available. |
| Interior |
Carpets & Upholstery |
The condition of the upholstery, carpets, mats, head
lining, trim are checked for undue wear or damage |
|
Seat Belts |
We check front and rear seat belts for correct operation |
