EXAMINATION AND TESTING
When you contact us we will have a chat with you about the
car you’re thinking of buying and we will get details
of the vendor and the vehicle. We will liaise between you
and the vendor to arrange a suitable time and place for us
to view the car while you are present. We encourage you "the
buyer" to be at the inspection to ask questions if you
have any concerns.
It is the responsibility of the customer to obtain permission
from the private vendor or garage owner to allow inspection
on the vendor’s site. Also, to facilitate proper checking
of the vehicle, it should be clean and dry when the CBC consultant
arrives to examine the vehicle.
Our examination and testing checklist
is very comprehensive. We will carry out a mechanical
check of the engine and running gear by visual, listening
to various components and a test drive. The test drive can
reveal a lot about the true condition of the car. We also
examine the relevant paper work and see if it matches the
car. This is where a "ringer"
could show up. We will also check if the car has outstanding
finance on it. If you were to do this yourself, it would cost
in the region of €35. Because we include this as part
of our service, you save a substantial amount of money.
Emission Check
A unique part of the carbuyerscheck.com service is that we
check the emissions to see if they satisfy current regulations
and the NCT. If these are wrong it could cost you between
€600 - €2,000 to rectify. To have the emissions
checked in a Garage would normally cost you about €55
but we include this as part of our service.
If the car is an import from the U.K. and you are interested
in knowing the complete history of it, carbuyerscheck.com
offer another unique service - we have a direct link to an
information bureau in the U.K. This is an optional extra if
the car is a U.K. import.
We check the interior condition and to see if every thing
is working. We also look at the exterior structure (this is
where "cut and shut"
could be exposed) to detect any body repairs, paint work,
crash damage and advise you if there was any and the extent
